The occurrence frequency distribution of sunspots at different magnetic flux values is examined, using magnetic field data measured with the Fe I spectral line. The sunspots are grouped in three longitudinal ranges and their occurrence in selected flux ranges simultaneously determined. The number of sunspots decreases as the -1.9 power of the flux of a sunspot, for sunspots with magnetic flux greater than 3 x 10 to the 21st Maxwell. It may be presumed that there exists a proper balance between the area and the respective magnetic field of a sunspot so that the frequency distribution of associated magnetic fluxes follows a definite rule.
