A comparison of different techniques of analysis applied to the observational data of CO Aur emphasizes the importance of a careful choice of the statistical techniques for the analysis of time series. A new set of observations performed in 1985 gives an independent confirmation of the previous results: CO Aur is a double-mode Cepheid with P1 = 1d.78304 and P2 = 1d.42776. The ratio between the two periods (0.8007) renders this star unique among the variable stars of this class.
