Line Broadening: Plasma
Scientific paper
Gaussian and anisotropic microfield distributions are used to estimate
in 1- and 3-D the influence of low frequency turbulent electric fields
on the 471 Å He line in the quasi-static limit as well as on the
hydrogen Lyα line treated in the impact approximation.
Gaussian wings and polarization are among the most conspicuous features.
