In the present calculation of the kinetic energy fraction which is radiated in the form of X-rays by the generation of expanding plasma 'clots' from cometary and zodiacal dust particles, thermal bremsstrahlung and radiative recombination are considered as the emission mechanisms for both optically thin and optically thick plasma clots. The results obtained furnish support for prospective X-ray radiation searches undertaken for such comets as those of Halley type, whose production rates are characterized by a dust-to-gas mass ratio above 0.1 at heliocentric distances smaller than 1 AU.
