Alignment test: @(#)1381.sh 1.15 (9/20/90). Batch edit: @(#)1381.fix 1.3 (9/11/90). This proposal outlines the test procedure for verifying HSP Mode II target acquisition (on-board) capability for each of the four IDTs on the HSP. Using a stellar source in the CVZ, each IDT will have the target placed in its finding aperture where a small area scan is taken to confirm the location of the star; additional pointing commands will then position the source in a selected aperture. This test verifies the interaction of HSP with the HST Pointing Control System (PCS) and serves to check the HST-HSP mechanical alignment.
