Calculations presently indicate that the radiation levels of the South Atlantic Anomaly will cause a significant increase in background noise counts but that event rates induced within the image tubes will be within the normal range of PDA operation. Thus, there should be no risk of any overload damage and the purpose of the present activity is to verify carefully that this is in fact the case. Revised 10/18/89 & 10/24/89 to match Implementation Plan & Redlines. 12/19/89
