Visible, near-IR, and Mossbauer measurements on dust coated rocks and
minerals show that a 300 µm thick layer is required to obscure the
substrate for VNIR measurements and that a >2000-µm-thick layer
is required to obscure the substrate for Mossbauer measurements.
