The paper emphasizes the connection between observations and theory in
the Lower Instability Strip. It is argued that the δ Scuti and
γ Doradus pulsators are very close relatives in the sense that the
γ Doradus phenomenon can also be seen in the slightly hotter
δ Scuti variables.
