The spectrum of CH was computed by SCF-MO-CI calculations on single excitation series and the Stieltjes imaging method was applied. The calculated continuum cross sections are lower than those obtained by Walker and Kelly (1972) by use of a perturbation theoretical approach. The computations reported here indicate strong Rydberg series converging to the ground state and the excited states 3 Pi and 1 Pi of CH(+). Oscillator strengths for the individual states of the Rydberg series converging to 1 Sigma + are tentatively derived.
