Long-duration gamma ray bursts (GRBs) are excellent tracers of sites of star-formation in distant galaxies, independent of their dust content. We propose to observe the host galaxy of the closest GRB to date - GRB 980425 so far not observed by any radio facility after the afterglow had faded out. This source is expected to be detected at the ~10 sigma level after a total of 13 hours of integration by ATCA in a continuum mode at 1384, 2368, 4800 and 8640 MHz. This will be used to model the detailed spectral energy distribution (SED). The outcome of this observation will be a unique constraint on the star formation properties of GRB hosts as well as the construction of a prototype SED for such systems in particular, and star forming galaxies in general. GRB 980425 may provide the first detailed insight into star formation in the context of GRB host galaxies.
