Using the NOVA laser facility at Lawerence Livermore National Laboratory, asymmetries due to diagnostic holes, and laser timing and beam imbalance were studied in gas-filled hohlraums irradiated with laser beams with Kineform phase plates. The measurements were made the reemission ball technique(N. D. Delamater et al., Phys. Rev. E, 53, 1, 1996) (G. R. Magelssen et al., Phys. Rev. E, 57, 4663, 1998.) by viewing the ball along the hohlraum axis. Using a 3-D radiation transport viewfactor code developed by MacFarlane (J. J. MacFarlane, Un. Of Wisconsin report UWFDM-1061 (1998)), and the measured power profile for each beam, direct comparisons between the experimental data and calculations have been made and will be presented.
