The longitudinal aspects of H- charge exchange injection into the CERN PS from a future Superconducting Proton Linac (SPL) are studied with due regard to space charge effects. The micro-structure of the beam introduced by the Linac RF is taken into account in the simulation. Algorithmic principles of the applied code are outlined. Recommendations are made on the characteristics of the beam to be provided by the new Linac in as far as the chopping factor is concerned.
