The atmosperic Cherenkov technique is widely used for the detection of high energy gamma rays (Eγ > 1011 eV) from space [L.K. Resvanis et al., Astrophys. J. Lett. 328 (1988) L9]. Most current detectors use large arrays of optical mirrors to collect and focus the Cherenkov light from gamma ray induced showers onto photomultipliers. We describe herein a simple and economical method for the production of such mirrors.
