A differential semiconductor electron spectrometer was used on board Prognoz 4 to study electron fluxes with energies between 0.3 and 0.5, 0.5 and 0.8, 0.8 and 1.2, 1.2 and 2.0, and 2.0 and 3.0 MeV. The respective power-law differential energy spectra are plotted and discussed. The value of 1.61 obtained for the spectral index during a quiet period points toward a galactic origin of the electrons.
