Scientific paper
AY Peg is a under-observed star. S. Böhme, 40 years ago, classified it but could not determine a period. Thanks to the GEOS summer camp 1977 AY appears to be an eclipsing binary and a multiple of the period is close to 5 days. 10 minima could be determined by observations in 1978; a good minimum has been obtained during the night of 7 October 1978. The period is determined to be 2.4390 days and the duration of the eclipse is 9.4 hours. It is now classified as type EA. The secondary minimum has a very low amplitude.
