We propose medium deep ACIS-S observations of four high redshift radio galaxy protoclusters at z~3 and 1 at z~4. Chandra allows an unbiased census of the AGN contents in these galaxy protoclusters that are believed to be the progenitors of rich clusters of galaxies. Combined with our ground- and space-based optical/NIR/submm/radio data we will investigate the linkage between starburst activity, galaxy/cluster formation and AGN, and study the evolution of the AGN fraction in galaxy clusters out to z>4
