Some observations of solar coronal mass ejections (CME) and their correlations with other solar active phenomena are summarized. The early theoretical researches on CME are briefly reviewed first. The current theoretical mechanisms invoked in CME models are introduced, i.e., energy storage mechanism, magnetic flux-rope (or current filament) catastrophic models and so on, together with their MHD analytic and numerical studies. The corresponding essential application is involved as well.
