The effect of the screening on the electron-capture rates at high densities is investigated. The Fermi function including the screening effect is calculated for several relatively light nuclei (A > 60), and is summarized in an approximate formula. The results show that the screening reduces the capture rates by more than 10 percent for the densities of the order of 10^9 ˜ 1010 g\cdotcm-3.
