Large-scale structures of the universe could be simply explained by wakes, which are the traces of open cosmic strings. Sheet-like structures would be the wakes, filaments would be intersections of such wakes, and rich clusters of galaxies would be high density regions where three wakes intersect. The streaming velocities and density distributions around such objects are calculated assuming planar, cylindrical and spherical symmetries. Under some plausible assumptions, the large values of the large-scale streaming velocities ( ~ 600 km/sec, ~ 50 Mpc) could be produced.
