A unique relationship between the spatial and temporal characteristics of solar proton fluxes during the period from 1969 to 1974 and the sectorial structure of the interplanetary magnetic field is established. Seventeen cases of N-S asymmetry of solar proton fluxes with energies up to 5 MeV observed at high latitudes are analyzed. It is shown that data on the sectorial structure of the interplanetary magnetic field can be effectively used in forecasting dangerous radiation events.
