The problem of acoustic excitation by opposed Alfven waves in the solar plasma is considered. Kinetic equations for interacting waves are developed and analyzed on the assumption that the Alfven waves have random phases. Estimates of the waveguide parameters for these waves show that they could produce low-frequency pulsations in the solar atmosphere.
