We propose to observe up to 3 Blazars in exceptionally high states for 100 ks each with the Chandra ACIS-LETG, to study efficiently both their jet environment as well as possible intervening high ionization metal absorption systems. The observations will be triggered by the Rossi-XTE ASM and will require rapid response times. This observing strategy will guarantee exceptionally high quality spectra containing at least one milion counts in the first orders of the LETGS.
