We propose an exploratory Chandra observation of KUV 01584-0939 (Cet3), a candidate double-degenerate binary with a 10 minute period discovered in the optical. We have tentatively identified an X-ray counterpart in the ROSAT faint source catalog (1RXS J020052.9-092435). Our observations will definitively confirm or reject this identification. The system appears very similar to several candidate double-degenerate (AM CVn) binaries which show strong modulations in the X-ray (for example, RX J1914+24 and RX J0806+15). If the candidate ROSAT source is related to Cet3, then it will very likely be pulsed at or near the 10 min. optical period (which may be a superhump period). We will search for the X-ray period and if found begin a timing campaign to monitor the orbital evolution.
