It is shown that the solution of the second-order differential equation which governs the periods of the gravity modes of a solar model with radial order larger than 10 can be estimated with an accuracy of 0.001 or less by a second-order asymptotic expression of the periods of low-degree gravity modes. It is suggested that the solution can be used to find g-modes in a signal.
