The site of the solar spectrometer of the International Research on the Interior of the Sun (IRIS) network, installed in December 1989 in the Teide Observatory (Izana, Tenerife) is described together with the instrumental facilities of the Teide Observatory. The IRIS instrument is housed at the Solar Oscillation Laboratory of the observatory, which also contains the ESA's Multichannel Photometer, the U.S. National Solar Observatory's Pyroheliometer, and the Birmingham University's 4 Solar Spectrophotometer.
