Dwarf galaxy processes that promote star formation are discussed.
Similarities between the dwarf galaxy processes and those occurring in
giant irregular galaxies are pointed out. The theory that star formation
in dwarf galaxies occurs in bursts is discussed. The effect of galaxy
size on the star formation rate is addressed.
