Photoelectric photometry on the Kron (1957) system is presented for 85 nearby M dwarf stars, nearly all of which have well-determined trigonometric parallaxes. For 33 stars originally observed by Kron, comparisons with the present photometry reveals some differences which may indicate significant variability for many of these stars, particularly those with hydrogen emission. The main sequence defined in the M(v), R-I plane by this sample biased toward higher proper motion lies about 0.5 m below the lower main sequence of the Hyades cluster.
