Ground data on the electrojets of explosive phases of substorms are examined. It is shown that the region of the explosive-phase current system between the western and eastern electrojets is not a discontinuity. The western and eastern electrojets are connected by a current coil which is at the level of the ionosphere. An additional western electrojet is formed to the north of this system.
