Global plasmasphere images have been essential in dramatically improving our ability to model the dynamic state of the plasmasphere, and the inner magnetospheric convection electric field. Quantitatively correct modeling of crucial electrodynamic coupling effects such as sub-auroral polarization stream (SAPS), overshielding, and neutral wind effects is either accomplished or underway. Plasmasphere data from both RPI and EUV have played a crucial role in improving our models of plasmaspheric mass density and ULF wave propagation. We show results of modeling the global plasmasphere for one case study, 22-23 April 2001, and a two-month period (30-March through 30 May 2001), achieving 0.2-0.7 RE accuracy in reproducing the stormtime plasmapause location, but indicating a need for better understanding of the recovery-phase plasmasphere.
