An analysis is presented of the natural oscillations of a free gyrostat, containing three flywheels whose axes are parallel to the principal central axes of inertia of the main body of the gyrostat. The equations of motion of the gyrostat about a fixed point (the center of mass) are integrated together with the equations of flywheel motion by the small-parameter method. The effect of viscous friction in the supports of the flywheel axes on the oscillations of the gyrostat is investigated.
