Local helioseismology is proving to be a powerful tool in revealing small-scale flow and inhomogeneity in subsurface layers. The Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) onboard SolarB is capable of producing high-resolution Doppler-grams that can be used for this new method of helioseismology. It is reviewed and discussed what can be learned from SOT local helioseismology, as well as what should be done for a successful programme.
