Integral equations are set up describing the kinematic planetary dynamo. On the basis of these equations, a procedure for calculating the characteristics of the field with the aid of perturbation theory is proposed. A Green function for an unperturbed equation that includes axisymmetric differential rotation is set up. In analyzing the perturbation theory series, a particular case is singled out wherein the damping factor of axisymmetric toroidal and poloidal dipoles degenerates. For a theory governing a series of models, estimates are given of the generation conditions and the values of the observed characteristics of the geomagnetic field.
