An analysis of visual DMS data of the 1996 and 1997 Perseids is presented. The 1996 shower only gave the opportunity to observe the last part of the outburst in the night august 11/12 by a team of Dutch observers, observing from Bad Nenndorf near to Hannover in Germany. The 1997 Perseids afforded an extremely long period of obervation due to very favourable weather conditions in the Netherlands from the end of June until August 13. 8265 Perseids and 4096 non-Perseids were observed. Hourly rates for a period of six weeks are presented.
