Gravitational waves emitted by a particle moving in a circular orbit around a stellar model are examined. First-order perturbation equations are solved both inside and outside the star. A. resonant oscillation of the star occurs when the frequency of the gravitational waves produced by the particle coincides with the quasi-normal mode of the star. The amplitude of teh gravitational wave at the resonance exhibits a sharp intrinsic peak depending on the equation of state used in the equilibrium configuration.
