Poynting vectors of hydromagnetic waves in the 120-560 s period range and the 8-4000-nW/sq m magnitude range were determined from GEOS-2 double probe experiment and magnetometer data from 1979 to study the influence of seasonal changes on the field aligned structure of field line resonances. Results indicate that the field aligned components of the Poynting vectors for January show a northward bias relative to the July data, and that local time and latitude differences between conjugate points on the GEOS-2 field line greatly influence the direction of the field aligned flow. The tilt angle of the earth's magnetic field correlates with the energy flow direction in the equinoctial period, and southward fluxes are noted for high positive tilt angles.
