Cross sections for neutrino interactions with nuclei are important for understanding the dynamics of supernova explosions and the synthesis of nuclei in these events. Neutrino cross sections are also important for interpreting certain terrestrial neutrino measurements. Neutrino cross sections have thus far been measured on only one nucleus, ^12C, to an accuracy better than 10%. The Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) currently under construction at Oak Ridge National Laboratory will produce a flux of 10^15 neutrinos/s from the decay of pions produced by interactions of a 1 GeV proton beam with a liquid mercury target. The νSNS (or nuSNS) collaboration is currently designing a facility and instruments that will allow neutrino cross section measurements in the SNS experiment hall. Up to 2 instruments with a mass of 20 tons each may be located 20 m from the SNS target, producing 10^3 neutrino-induced events per year through charged-current interactions. An overview of the proposed facility, instruments, and planned experimental program will be presented.
