Airborne hyperspectral image data were used to examine the Pavant Butte
tuff cone and Tabernacle Hill tuff ring in the Black Rock Desert of
Utah. Palagonitized and poorly palagonitized tephras were successfully
discriminated from volcanic and non-volcanic backgrounds.
