We examine offsets between the apparent locations of discrete features in extragalactic jets at different wavelengths (X-ray - optical - radio). We also investigate the progression of knot intensity moving out along the jet for different wavelengths. These two features are interpreted in terms of a basic synchrotron model, although there are alternatives involving inverse Compton emission. In this study, we include both low power (e.g. FRI radio galaxy, M87) and high power (e.g. 3C 273) jets.
The work at SAO was supported by NASA contract NAS8-39073 and grant GO2-3144X.
