It is shown that the few available observations of the polarization of solar X-ray bursts in the energy range of 12 to 20 keV have not yet been successfully interpreted in a noncontradictory way on the basis of existing theoretical conceptions. A mathematical model is presented to illustrate polarization of the bremsstrahlung radiation of nonrelativistic electrons. The complications in interpreting experimental data are linked to the insufficient accuracy of experiments, the difficulty in calculating the thermal component in the examined energy region, and the generally unsteady character of the radiation and polarization processes during solar flares.
