The photochemistry of the atmosphere of Venus has been modeled using the latest available chemical kinetics information, with the view to improving our understanding of the height distributions of the sulphur and halogen molecules. We include new results from calculations showing latitudinal/longitudinal variations of key species (SOx, H2SO4, HCl, etc.) for different seasons, which will be helpful in the interpretation of the observations being made from the Venus Express orbiter spacecraft.
