The absence of a large advance of the periastron of the first binary pulsar is shown to imply that the unseen companion is also collapsed. The existence of a lower limit to the mass of the observed pulsar of about 0.3 solar mass requires a minimum general relativistic periastron advance of about 2 degress per year. Other causes of apparent and true pulse period changes are also briefly considered.
