Scientific paper

The use of low-energy radioactive beams to study problems of astrophysical interest is reviewed. The emphasis is placed on the direct measurements of the cross sections for nuclear reactions involving short halflifes radioactive nuclei in their entrance channels, and on the astrophysical implications of their results. Future perspectives of this field are also presented.
