We propose a 20 ks ACIS-I pointing centered on the newly discovered infrared cluster 15 arcmin west of the massive open cluster NGC 2244. The ACIS detection of the embedded cluster would be more than sole confirmation of the existence of such an IR cluster. It allows us to resolve the stellar population, distinguish members from foreground stars, study the X-ray detected stellar density in the triggered satellite cluster, and compare its members with the population in the compact core resolved with previous GO observations. The pointing extends the GO2 linear mosaic to cover the western edge of the wind-blown cavity, the interface between the HII region and the molecular cloud, and the elephant trunks intruding into the HII region.
