The results of multicolor photometric and classification-resolution spectroscopic observations of 8 Herbig Ae/Be candidate stars are reported. This sample includes two newly recognized objects, MQ Cas and BD+11(deg) 829, which were found by means of cross-correlation of the IRAS Point Source Catalog with the catalog of galactic early-type emission-line stars (Wackerling 1970). Near-IR excesses were found in three stars (AS 116, AS 117, and BD+11(deg) 829). Algol-type variability, which is common in Herbig Ae/Be stars, was detected in MQ Cas and V1012 Ori. Spectral types are determined for MQ Cas, GSC 1811-0767, HDE 244604, and BD+11(deg) 829. Analysis of our and previously published data suggests that 7 of the 8 objects are pre-main-sequence stars, while the last one, Hen 938, is more likely a B[e] supergiant.
