We report on our models for the interaction between an electron and a neutral or charged PAH molecule. The primary electrostatic interaction is due to the total charge. Near the PAH the spatial extent of the molecule leads to modifications in the interaction potential. These modifications can be described in terms of one or more quadrupole moments. It also possible to formulate constrained model potentials that are more amenable to calculation. An improved picture of the interaction potential will be used to calculate electron PAH recombination cross sections in interstellar environments.
