Results of a survey of white dwarf stars for variability on time scales of between 0.13 and 6.8 sec, which are near those predicted for radial modes, are presented. The search was conducted using an on-line fast Fourier transform technique, with a 0.9-m telescope equipped with a refrigerated offset-guiding photometer. Except for the Crab pulsar used to test the program, no power spectrum from any of the seven DA, four DC, one DF, one DG and two C2 white dwarfs observed showed any signs of coherent variability in excess of 0.01 magnitude.
