The light curve of SN 1885 in M31 from 1885 September 6 to October 26 is
derived from 18 visual observations made by Bigourdan with a 30-cm
refractor at Paris Observatory and reduced with respect to newly
determined photoelectric magnitudes for five comparison stars. These
observations had been overlooked in the variable stars literature
