The effective magnetic fields and the radial velocities of the supergiant Nu Cep (HD 207260) are analyzed on the basis of 55 Zeeman spectrograms. A slow periodic magnetic field variation was noted, and it is concluded that the magnetic period of about 4 years would yield an equatorial rotational velocity of approximately 1.2 km/s. It is suggested that the slow variation observed may be produced by a so far unknown physical process within the Nu C, rather than attributing the phenomenon solely to the rotation of the star.
