Results are presented for sounding-rocket measurements at a height of 1512 km of the concentration and composition of neutral particles at the start of the 21st solar cycle. The measurements were made by means of an RF mass spectrometer and by using a photoelectron analyzer to measure the absorption of solar UV radiation in various wavelength ranges. Data are reported on the concentrations of O2, O, and N2. The results obtained indicate that, during the solar-activity minimum at the start of the 21st cycle, the neutral atmosphere was in a state close to diffusive equilibrium at a daytime exospheric temperature of approximately 750 K.
