We have measured galaxy surface density profiles and X-ray luminosities for 15, X-ray selected clusters with redshifts between z=0.5-0.7, and X-ray luminosities between L_x(0.5-2)=0.5-4.5x10(44) erg s(-1) . The sample was selected from the CfA-Rosat survey of distant galaxy clusters (Vikhlinin et al. 1998). The cluster galaxy counts within 3h(-1) Mpc, after correcting for incompleteness, range between ~ 20-100 cluster members within two magnitudes of the third brightest cluster galaxy. The counts are consistent with the sample being primarily Abell richness class 0 and 1 clusters. Two or three systems may be richness class 2 clusters, but only after large incompleteness corrections are applied. The L_x-Richness relation for our sample of distant clusters is similar to that for nearby clusters.
